Many Things That Pass By

we are on the road. we move.
we travel without traveling.
we experience without experiencing.
even when the car stops, we are just nomads.

The series Many things that pass by (2022) is a story about transition through the Slovenian countryside. It talks about leaving home and the feeling of homeliness in the desire for a new and better life, whether it is moving from the countryside to the city or interstate migration. The hayrack appears as an active protagonist who accompanies us at every step. The silent symbol of Slovenian landscape and culture is both a witness and a narrator. Images from the road thus give the impression of transience, modernization, transition, decay, and desire to preserve, and address us with questions: What is home? Where are its boundaries? What is a sense of belonging? And what is homeland?
